Of course, you have not provided details (nor do you need to), but there remains the likelihood that social attitudes informed your opinion at the time (which could have been in a negative or positive way) bringing you either further from or closer to the truth, depending on the circumstances.
We do not deny the possibility of children being sexually abused. In fact, we know it happens, and we condemn it. The problem is that the prevailing dogma makes it nearly impossible to distinguish actual abuse from invented abuse, especially when we are only provided with news media accounts and summaries of trials, which tend to studiously avoid most of the relevant facts.
