Of course, apart from the "recruiting" = "grooming", we also have the Abuse Cycle (aka Zombie Bite) theory of the aetiology of pedophilia, by which "abused" boys become adult pedophiles and "abused" girls become pedophile facilitators (as mothers, stepmothers, teachers...).
