As for child prostitution - recent evidence has demonstrated that the largest contributing factor to child prostitution is ... those laws that prevent persons under the age of 18 from lawful employment. As no lawful employers will hire them, prostitution is the only option that remains available to them.

Perhaps for those children above puberty but for those pre-pubescents it appears to be the fact that in their poor communities they can make considerably more from prostitution than from most other means even when it is more dangerous and possibly harmful for them. They do appear to juggle the risks and benefits and often come up with the only solution for their situation regardless of any other considerations like morality or affects on their future - most pre-pubescents will probably not insist on contraceptive use for example.
