Cremating a corpse can be an act of great respect if the person whose body you are cremating listed in their last will and testament that this is what they wanted done with their body after death.

No of course it isn't. I was just pointing out it doesn't really matter as long as the dead and those left behind are in agreement. Some might view the public cremations in India for example as being in bad taste but that is purely a cultural issue and how we treat a lifeless object is how we WISH to treat them.
