I think things are beginning to change slowly since several of the books I have read recently from female authors discussing related topics do acknowledge the attraction towards children by many more than those who classify themselves as paedophiles or child-lovers or MAPs and they recognise that there is an inherent attractiveness in children. These kinds of books would not have been written a few decades back. Attitudes will probably change to become more sympathetic towards those who have an attraction also but only for those who are not campaigning for adult/child sexual relationships to be allowed which is tough but that too is part of the baggage. I don't know how it might be possible to separate the "baggage" from the perception either.
