Well, it seems many here do rely on what they consider as reliable evidence just as the religious do and probably with as much accuracy.
Oh, wow, so now the Bible is just as accurate as, oh, say, Cook and Malinowski
This isn't history of thousands of years ago we're talking about. This is history as recent as 100 years back in the West and even less in third world countries; most probably still happening in Australasia and among Native Americans. Recent enough that narrators cared about the factual facts.
What I pointed out is that although child prostitution might have existed for a long time too it was mostly condemned and so might other adult/child sex. mmmmmmh?
Adult prostitution is also condemned by many people and societies that have little or no problem with any other adult sex. Sweden is not what you would describe as a sexually uptight country, but god help you if you get caught for anything to do with prostitution there!
So no, it doesn't follow that a condemnation of child prostitution is the same as a condemnation of child sex in other contexts.
I wouldn't know. Still very much alive ta!
My point is that every decision you make; every single one has a moderate potential to be regretted later.
Except suicide. Never seen anyone who succeeded in committing suicide later regretting it.
FFS, just look at the divorce rates! That shows you that adults too regret their relationships!
I think we are back to minority rights again.
Mh, no? The right to be sexual is not about a minority; it's granted to everyone. (And this is another reason why I don't like the "license" model Dissident supports - THAT would be a minority right)
The problem presumably is how do we protect those who would not on their own volition have sexual relationships from those who perhaps might
Essentially, through information and transparency.
And no, "keep your hands outta there" is neither.
