Re: Regarding professionals

I have to agree with Dissident on this. Although most of the professionals have some knowledge, and a few of the professionals have a great deal of knowledge, by and large the mental health professions have consistently displayed a lack of understanding of the human mind combined with enough hubris to make a majority of their interventions for the worse.

With that as competition, us "non-professionals" can hardly help but do better.

There are the beginnings of research that could change this, and I can see small improvements here and there, but for most purposes think of the mental health profession as being in the blood-letting stage of medical development, and more akin to religion (and dogmatic religion at that) than to science.
