Though in my case, I would be more inclined to ignore the whole thing. I paid little attention to social networks before I joined GC, and pretty much made my few profiles disappear. And I really don't check them.

So I could just as easily say, "People are lying there with impunity all the time right? Wasn't there another mother who famously bullied a dying girl on the Web? Only a fool would pay attention without verifying. I wonder what the girl would say, and why her mother doesn't care? She's an adult, right? Why is her mother still trying to run her life after all these years? Sounds sick to me."

But in general, I would hold with not paying attention to those sites.
