Perhaps the main thing I meant by successful, apart from all the medals (yipee!), was the opening ceremony which probably came as a pleasant surprise to many Brits, this one especially, as it wasn't guaranteed to be successful. Danny Boyle did a good job from most people's perspectives it seems and I hope Frankie Boyle does an equally good job for the closing ceremony!
