Whoever mentioned the commercial interests? It is simply about whether one sees such sharing (evading paying) as stealing or not.
I believe the reasons for explaining (though not necessarily condoning) why people may be motivated to take for free rather than pay for a totally non-scarce and easily replicable intellectual product is very important. I think discussions of business ethics (however oxymoronic people may think that concept is) in dealing fairly with customers is every bit as important as simple discussions of legality.
