You are making the same mistake that the pseudofeminists and other child oppressors always make: you are assuming that the tendency for young girls to want to project attractiveness is entirely cultural. It isn't. Girls--especially those in the age range that interests most MAPs (8 to 12 year old tweens)--have always been obsessed with their appearance. Those who believe in the blank slate theory of personality (which Steven Pinker amply tears apart in his book The Blank Slate) will never understand this. How convenient it would be for these people if that were true! But alas, it isn't. Girls mimic adult sexuality because they know it is effective, not simply because their peers do it; although that may be a factor, it is far from the only one. Sorry, but history and science are on our side here.
