Unless one believes that other cultures aren't human it is very relevant. When everyone is arguing that eating bugs must be harmful and immoral from the commonness of the idea in ones own culture; counterexamples from others establish that it is both mere bias and not the end of the world. Further, we would want to see if there was any link between those cultures and better health if we were arguing that the anti-bug folks must have reasons ( though we need not state what their reasons are. We just point to their stance as if the numbers game creates sound reasons. )

Nice. Dismiss things you can't argue with by asking that those with a vested interest in promoting a thing review what they have already dismissed for no good reason. Yup, the same folks who entered bogus numbers into the Congressional Record really will be persuaded by the numbers.
