Some LBs hijacked my GM

The other day I worked a fairly early shift, and was walking home in the early evening.

It was light enough to see some very cute girls out with their parents. There was one I only saw from behind, who had very short-shorts and long brown hair almost down to said shorts. She had a definite bounce in her step. ( Methinks 9 years old. )

Anywho, as I got closer to home I took a slight detour over near the parks block. Then I heard a bunch of mathematically challenged girls. I presume they were mathematically challenged, because no matter how frequently they counted in unison, they couldn't get past "eight" before starting again. You guessed it, tween cheerleaders practicing.

So instead of going through the park with the concert bandshell, I went through the one with the playground equipment whose lawn had the preteen cheerleaders.

Unfortunately by now it was truly twilight. And I wasn't planning on craning my neck or waltzing through their practice. But I could see a lot of bodies in motion silhouetted in the fading light, and heard a lot of sweet voices practicing their routines.

But off on the other side were a couple of LBs playing futbol with their father looking on. ( I'd estimate that they were 7 and 5 years old. ) The ball was near me on the path that cuts through the park, and the 5 year old seemed to be in no hurry to retrieve it, so I kicked it back to them. Their father thanked me. Whereupon the 7 year old takes another shot that eludes his brother. And I kicked that one back to without missing a step.

However I did keep on heading home, so they weren't able to lure me into their game. ( I suspect the older boy didn't really want to be competing with a lackluster kid brother. )

Anywho, I smiled to myself, that I went for the girls, but unfortunately I'm a boy magnet. And they weren't even the sort of hot shirtless 12 year old skate-punks I occasionally find attractive.
