Hello! First, welcome to GC!

Now, as I said, I am willing to be interviewed. I have been interviewed by others doing similar studies and, as I am an 'out' MAP already, I am not overly concerned with privacy issues. I have even spoken on the phone with people conducting studies of MAPs. Incidentally, if you don't know, an MAP is a (m)inor (a)ttracted (p)erson; the acronym is capitalized to avoid confusing it with the original word map. Anyway, many of us prefer the term MAP because the meaning of 'pedophile' has become corrupted by the media, law enforcement and society and is often used interchangeably with 'child molester' which most of us are certainly NOT.

One other thing: you may find some people here reacting to you a bit gruffly or even with open hostility. You have to understand that we have been burned, so to speak, more than once by people claiming to want to help us or to present us objectively. They almost never do in the end, or they try to but are still very much biased.

I realize that an inherent bias is hard to get past so I respect those who do attempt to present our issues objectively, even if I don't agree with their conclusions. We all have ingrained biases; it is just human nature. But there are a lot of people who are openly prejudiced, hateful or cruel towards us, and those we have no use for. We call them antis. Luckily, you do not seem to fit that description. But again, we have been fooled before, so we will always proceed with caution.

I am not trying to scare you off; I just want you to understand where we are coming from so you can look past any initial reservations and insecurities we may have.
