Today I tamed a little girl.
An irresistibly cute tiny girl of three, curly-haired, bright and talkative, constantly surrounded by adoring adults.
Now she runs to me on sight, and takes me by the hand and hides behind my leg, and cries when we are parted.
All I did was get down and talk to her like a normal person, and ask her what she wanted to do...

(Dear grown-ups: Have you forgotten how it felt to have your cheeks pinched?
Or to be dragged around by the arm instead of having your hand held?
Or to be hoisted into the air like a sack of potatoes without so much as a by-your-leave?)
