In the old days evil Pedos "recruited" boys, now they "groom" girls.

Except they didn't call them "pedophiles" then, they called them "child molesters" and "queers" (not that you necessarily didn't know that, just thought it was worth pointing out). The "recruiting" label was also primarily applied to homosexuals rather than pedophiles. Even to this day, you've got social conservatives and far right people who promote this nonsense. The "grooming" nonsense is exclusively aimed at pedophiles these days, though.
