recruiting can be done quickly

mentor is a longterm process closest to the pedophobe concept of groom
but mentor implies volition by the mentee, groom implies that the gullible victim is slowly trapped by degrees into a relationship that destroys them like drug addiction

indoctrinate is the negative political term. Our enemies indoctrinate, we enlighten or train rhe student
