If your niece is an adult, I wonder how she'd feel about giving up sexual agency the her closest male relative ( within the context of traditional marriage.) For that matter, I wonder how she'd feel about arranged marriage, or fulfilling her conjugal obligations within one. ( Of course love matches were increasingly more common over arranged marriage at the time free love came into the picture. )

Of course then there's the whole question of whether her failure to discuss her adult love-life with her Uncle is due to her having none to speak or, or due to not speaking of it to you.

On the latter note; every girl of a certain age has a period, and its not as if any bother to inform their Uncle every time :)
