Old, wrinkly farts do have a slight advantage to take away the creeper factor. Grandfatherly people tend to be accepted when interacting with children. "Oh, he's talking to my daughter? I bet he has a lot of grandkids. I remember my grandfather was really nice to kids." Of course, this might just be true in the places where I've lived.
