But if the separatists were wholly innocent, why would they be denying the international community the opportunity to vindicate them? Using guns to turn-back impartial investigators seems to confirm what the various intelligence communities already believe.

The usual strategy is to allow the Intl community to review the exculpatory evidence while denying access to incriminating evidence.
