Re: Reminder: no adult-child sex in today's world!

Whatever you may think of my top-level argument -- and I'm still thinking I won't be posting it again -- it's intentionally a minimal argument. I personally can think of various other reasons for not engaging in such sexual activity, but what I'm trying to do there is assume as little as possible, trying to put myself in the shoes of someone who might be about to get sexual with a kid. In that frame of mind, I have one shot to pick the single best argument I can.

So for someone who's angry at society and its moralistic, judgmental attitudes (and remember, I too think it has some, just not as many as most of you do), I thought "criminal" would not be a helpful word or a helpful concept. Just the clearest facts I can think of.

So when rainbowloom takes me to task for assuming people here are criminals, I'm trying gently to point out that he's the one bringing that into the discussion.

It's layered and complicated, but when writing it I wasn't cynically thinking I was being clever and scoring a debating point. Hope that helps.
