Of course black crime rates have nothing to do with civil rights. I rely on that sometimes in my arguments that pedophiles deserve civil rights. If you'd never dream of preventive curfew in black neighborhoods (at least a liberal wouldn't) then how can you support that sort of thing for pedophiles? That's what I argue.

But we can still note the existence of trends and facts. I think when MLK recognized that blacks had a high crime rate in St. Louis and not everything was the white man's problem, he came across as moderate and reasonable and in touch with reality.
