Indeed.

As horrific and real as it is, sexual abuse ( whether by the preferential or the situational offender ) just doesn't compare with nonsexual neglect and verbal and physical abuse. And there the stats are overwhelming that the primary source of violence towards children are their parents ( both birth, step, adoptive and foster. ) And for extra-familial sources, they are overwhelmingly Teleio too.

You have to start narrowing your focus away from greatest harm by numbers, and greatest harm by type ( say, torture or death ) and start looking to lesser harms caused by lesser sources before you can find an accidental demographic overlap with the myths. But since Teleios aren't "Monsters," who cares about the children anyway?

Profiling is counterproductive to policing.
