I like the idea but you would be better off scouring JSTOR; there is certain to be research that indirectly answers this question and the sample used will be more reliable. If you worked with the website you previously linked, your sample size would effectively be 1, that being the person who moderates the story section. Their personal threshold for removing or editing submissions is what you would be studying.

If this is more than a passing fancy, you could conduct a simple study of your own.
