Society can repeat the mantra as much as it wishes that the child is always an unwilling victim; but young people know better. The higher the age, the more statistically likely the minor is to have been assaulted and the more likely her peers are to have flouted the laws by either fantasizing about an adult or actually having consensual sex with an adult BF.

Equating the two must cause slut-shaming of the rape victim by her peers. And thus fear of being identified as such if she comes forward.
