Only in a society where the market for sex is limited by culture, does it make sense not to f. everyone's brains out (and instead, write a list of criteria to select your limited set of partners, one of which is attractiveness.)

This would be so alien to Melanesians and Inuit that WEIRDs could just be from another planet.
