Indeed. That's the crux of it, yeah? Glad to have someone who's willing to pay attention and learn -- but then it sounds as though you're already good at doing that with others, too. Just being willing to treat someone like they're a human and that what they say matters, it goes a long way.

And yeah, there may be a bit of jargon and a bunch of acronyms to pick up, (a few of them are referenced in the FAQ!) but that's typical of any in-group surrounding a particular topic. And from the outside looking in, it may all seem indistinguishably simplistic (all those techies with their programming, amirite? Actually there's a lot more to it than what is assumed by most people. All those sports players with their muscles and yelling! Actually, there's a lot more... etc.)
