Ex-KGB agents (and this includes Vladimir Vladimirovich himself) are about as reliable as ex-mobsters (and Putin is responsible for many more murders than even Roy DeMeo's infamous crew).

Accusing your political opponent of irregular or illicit sexual tastes goes back to Ancient Rome, at least.
