I'm always surprised that anyone who has ever been a parent can even repeat that old canard about us leaving the affectionate girl in the lurch at puberty.
She is the one who will decide to stop being "daddy's little girl" and to cease lavishing physical affection and being as gushingly emotional. More of that energy will go into besties and later BFs. But she is the one who will leave long before we would find anyone else we would give our heart to. Maybe its because its not manly for fathers to openly commiserate about this over the office water-cooler that it isn't acknowledged as a universal truth outside of Pedo circles. Dante ![]() |
