Forces of money and power

I have a notion that a lot of force and oppression come from the hierarchies and accumulation of goods that are part of civilization/agriculture, while non-sedentary hunter/gatherers have more respect for personal autonomy.

With this in mind, and disregarding the question of what 'our values' are, I could also wonder whether one should believe too much that those values can be put into action without being countered people's quest for money and power (an example could be how mental health practitioners can benefit from sex offence laws).

The Internet and the sharing of information and ideas is a disturbing force in all of this, as I see it.
