As I said, I'm a tough critic of Pope Francis and of the theology of the Roman Catholic Church. But I still admire a lot of things about the Church. Yes, I could in theory get away as far as possible from the Catholic elements of the school. But why should I? There is no direct gain. Yes, I'd love to get them a good Presbyterian school instead, but there aren't many in their vicinity. :p The journey of religious discovery isn't over. And perhaps never will be. In the meantime I'm happy to allow the girls to listen to a default position, and start introducing from it further tidbits to allow them to come to a fuller appreciation of God in their own time and fashion. As I did. I will not forbid them from remaining Catholic if they feel like it, same as I will not forbid them to change if they feel like it. But as for church going itself, it is done for yourself, not for others; and it is a sign of faith, not a "good action" -- maybe a form of preaching and of learning if the minister is good ( :p ), but it isn't a good in itself if you don't know why you are there. ![]() Cuteness is to die for Cuteness cannot fail Cuteness knows no limit Cuteness will prevail |
