Thanks for the compliment. I probably am fairly easy to get along with, but I appreciate the compliment all the same.

But when I say that the Mexicans are easy to get along with, I'm not speaking just for myself. At least here in the South, most everyone likes the Mexicans that have come here. Many are opposed to illegal immigration because they believe it depresses wages and makes life more difficult for the people who were already living here, and there are occasional complaints about specific behaviors (like living four families to a house which increases rents for everyone, or in some industries a tendency to do lower quality work, albeit very fast) but for the most part Mexican immigrants are well-liked both as people and as workers.

I should note that most Mexican immigrants live only ONE family to a house, but I have had several people inform me that they have witnessed multiple families in one house, which seems to be most common among those newly arrived. Because they share the rent, they can afford more - and then landlords start charging EVERYONE more - or so the theory goes.
