Um, no. That´s the cultures that have bridewealth systems...

Does it mean that getting a wife must be strictly timed to coincide with getting a house?
That is, a man with no wife is no master of a house without a wife to do women´s work (and a widower is screwed), while marriage assures that the child bride has a house whose mistress is she and no one else?
