GirlChat #722461
"Any other ideas?"
It doesn't stand much chance of being produced, but it especially doesn't stand a chance so long as the main character's predilection for child pornography is a central part of the story. If it has to be involved, it's because the oldest two girls put on shows on some sort of video chat site - which the man catches them at. Third cousin is also too distant to be believable that the authorities would come looking for him as the nearest relative. I doubt the authorities would even consider a third cousin a relative for legal purposes. Second cousin is already unlikely, but first cousin seems much too close for an American audience. In fact, it would be better if the girls were entirely unrelated - children of a dying friend or co-worker or something. (I suppose later they could discover that they were 4th or 5th cousins three times removed or something.) Maybe a woman he worked with long ago at another job, who doesn't have much of a connection with him but doesn't have anyone closer. Maybe he briefly met the oldest girl when she was young and doesn't remember it, but something about the meeting made him stand out as a potential father figure to her, so she asks her mother to ask him if he would look after them. But it doesn't stand a chance of being made in today's environment anyway. And generally make it the girls who introduce ideas that might be unpopular to a contemporary audience. Baldur |
