I feel exhausted

Simply reading this disagreement makes me feel exhausted. I agree with everything that you're saying, of course, and it's only pragmatic to avoid using those terms, but it's tiring to know that we're still squabbling like this over meaningless minutiae. I've been away from the community for some years and it appears that nothing has changed. That's not a criticism of anyone here but rather the situation at large; I left originally because I felt that the groundwork had already been laid as well as could be and all that was left to do was keep our tongues sharp and watch carefully for opportunities to speak and be heard.

It still seems that a cultural shift is what we need, some crack in the face of that idiot's certainty which governs the current thought on sexuality. Right now it's impenetrable. If only the pedophiles had got a foot through that damn door in the seventies during the gay rights movement before it sealed up.

Sorry for the negative post, I don't know how you keep up hope for years.
