Soccer is "iffy," because even though slamming into each other isn't supposed to happen, and a heavy reliance is on the lower body with men having to contend with women's typically greater stamina, slamming incidents do still occur.

Obviously, the great majority of women could not function on a football team of an assorted gender (save, perhaps, as a kicker), because the majority of them would not be able to take a hit from a 300-pound man slamming into them at full speed.

For football, watch last Sunday's game between the New Orleans Saints and the Minnesota Vikings. See the Saints' first punt of the game. It's the very first offensive drive.

For soccer, first of all, yes, slamming incidents happen. But soccer, uniquely among sports, prizes acting. Even though there is slamming, a player of a high level usually is also skilled at faking fouls against them. This does vary a lot between countries: some have a soccer culture very adept at acting (Argentina), and some don't (Germany). But the rules and mainstream interpretation still make it so that acting is, overall, prized. Considering this, although women would have the disadvantage in body checking and crashing, they would probably have the advantage in faking fouls against them if they played against males.

However... your experiment has already been played, and women lost easily.

Notice that Australia is a world top 10 side in women's soccer, and only a middling side in male's soccer.
