- It's so real. And it happened over so many years in the purest of ways.

- The romantic part came on suddenly (as in the romanticizing of the shared relationship by us both at the same time), as a fairly recent development in the past year or something like that.

- But the things that make it beautiful - the love, the growing up together, the sheer volume of shared memories of special moments alone (not in a sexual way, don't even go there) - have always been there and will always be there on repeat no matter what.

- So I get on my hands and knees at your feet and I beg that you look back to the boy and the man that I've been to her at every turn, take a step back and think whether you would question a man's loyalty - a girl's hero from childhood, who treated her with such dignity, such respect, that they became true best friends. And now we feel something more, and you wanna destroy that, take it from both of us all in the name of upholding your values?

- I was a perfect gentleman, never so much as pretending that it was ever more than it was; except it was that, and now we both realize what we're up against (at least). Although I never intended for it to be this way at all (we just needed each other); she wanted the exclusivity, for it to be framed and titled "our thing". And so I said "but - wait - yeah, you know what? who can blame her".

- How else should I have conveyed to her that something like this is priceless? Hash-tag untouchable?

- And I haven't even gotten into how much trust that there really is, and how it has never been broken and never will be (I would kill myself). I literally meant it when I said that I would always be there for her no matter what, forever and for always, and she believed it. Oops? I'm sorry for giving your cherished daughter a soul-mate.
