Some of the comments are talking about sharing a room as if it is strange. Families have always normally shared a room when staying at hotels. The expense is simply high enough that most people cannot afford multiple rooms, and with children in tow they don't want their children completely separate anyway - though an attached room in a suite is sometimes an option.

I do note that the hotel is saying that they followed NSPCC guidelines.
