In my experience, I would qualify that experience, pardon the redundancy. I can and have had relationships with adults. To me, an erection is a physical reaction and the proper physical stimulation can get the penis to work. But to me a relationship with a grown woman is, if it makes sense, "just sex". I don't feel what I feel with a non sexual interaction with an underage girl. It's more meaningful to me to take a girl to the movies than to have full intercourse with an adult. That's why I identify as a pedophile; it's emotional, not really sexual, or not per se sexual. And what adults lack to make me want adults as partners is not sexual, or not entirely sexual; it's emotional.
