I'm not up on all the many twist and turns and details of this story, but she sounds like a family relative. Never the best place to share affections of the GL kind IMO, because it makes it difficult to back out without affecting many things in one's life. Associates and friends can be interchangeable to an extent. Family is either permanent or permanently cut off. Of course, love doesn't always show up in the most convenient of circumstances, and sometimes it's those very family circumstances that create events that set the stage for finding you have yourself a LGF.
