"I know a lot of childlovers don't believe in God or Jesus or much of anything."
I've reduced the italics to the pertinent portion of your statement. Please try to be more considerate of nonbelievers. I'm sure you meant no offense, but the way we choose to phrase things often belies under-the-surface assumptions. Atheists are used to being insulted by theists, being told that they are "lost" and "confused", or that they are "going to hell". Because I disbelieve in God, does not mean I hold no beliefs. Spiritual or otherwise - as there is more that it is important to believe in in life than religion. Atheists can still believe in morals and ethics. They can believe in friendship and love. And they often believe in facts and science. These are all more important than the creation myths we invent to cover up the gaps in our knowledge of life and the universe. But if there were a God, He wouldn't be a God at all, but a Goddess. In the form of a pretty little girl. |
