I always thought it went out of fashion along with Freudianism.

Perhaps it is still used in France (where apparently psychoanalysis, in its post-modern, Lacanian version, is still considered to be Holy Writ, and above rational criticism).

But then I stopped caring about Freud and his followers 40 years ago.
