I don't have any control over their stupidity. The more blatantly dishonest they are, the more she's gonna resent them when she inevitably finds out that they secretly made an executive decision to remove her best friend and support from her life using threats of calling the cops over his attraction to little girls - something she herself actually finds endearing since it allowed him to fall in love with her in the first place.
