Landlords love the power they have over renters. Fortunately, here in the Great North, Canada has many rules in place to protect renters.
Once, back in the Brotherly South, the landlord I had was under a lease agreement that included him cutting everyone's grass outside their apartments. One day, he had gotten a phone call and stopped mowing my lawn half way through. No problem... things happen. A week later, he only did one yard and quit to do something. Everyone complained. The grass was getting quite tall. I confronted him, pointing out the lease agreement. He cut everyone's grass except mine. I cut it myself. A few day's later, it was discovered that someone had coated his entire apartment's grass with soil neutralizer which killed, not only his grass, but anything he planted in the dirt there. The dirt had to be removed and new soil put down. Quite expensive, I'm sure. |
