As someone who has been many places and met many people, from homeless people and beggars to bona fide nobility, I am glad to have met almost all of them, and even though I frequently forget their faces and their names, and often forget entirely the countless encounters, they have all made their mark on me, and I presume I have made some mark on them. I hope that most of these encounters have benefitted both of us.
