Yes, even the William Tell failure, Bill Burroughs did the South American jungle psychedelics, while also propagating the goal of transhumanism and wistfully hoping that one day humanity would leave its flesh and blood behind, in favor of everlasting machination, basically immortality.

I'm definitely not sure how I feel about that. I've seen too many classic sci-fi movies, or maybe just enough.
