I don't know what he was like privately, but I especially liked his No Reservations series. I think I probably refused to watch the CNN series that came later, not just because it was CNN, but because they tamed things and made them more "presentable" which of course always ruins the integrity of anything, but it probably set him up for life with money to enjoy the finer things. Check out that medieval town he was in when he did it. I suppose if you were going to do something like that, it's as nice a place as any to end it.

I'm still not sure about the facts, though. I don't think he would have left his kid by choice, or maybe I just don't want to believe it.
