There is certainly a need for education, even though most will never be willing to accept what they learn.
I've noticed as well that those distinctions are being made more frequently. At the very least, it's often specified as "statutory rape," rather than only calling it rape, leaving out the fact that it is only rape by the definition of the law. And of course, I've come across many instances of the act's description mentioning the mutual consent of both parties. Of course, they still wish we were all dead. It doesn't matter if the girl intentionally and admittedly seduces you, you've still raped her, even if it's the day before she's legal. I'd love to see what would happen if a child were to drug an adult for the purpose of having sex. How would that be handled? Would they still blame the adult? Would the child be charged with rape? Would they both be charged with rape, being each other's victim? Has that actually happened and been reported? I suppose it's more than possible. There's more than a handful of kids who manage to get their hands on such contraband. |
