The world is starting to look

Lately I've seen a lot of talk about pedophilia, typically with an eye on pedophilia being accepted (and all of the negativity that comes in the rebuttal). I first noticed, as I've said before, how the term "MAP" was popping up more and more (typically in the "MAPs can go kill themselves" way, sadly), but I've seen a lot more going on lately. From people apparently warning minors about a pedo flag (I've never seen it before now), to people discussing whether pedophiles should be included in the LGBT category (again, the answer is quite violently opposed).

I'm both scared and hopeful for all of this new discourse. I have no interest in adding a P to "LGBT," but if that happens, then it would be quite an important marker in our progress. The fact that people are starting to think about pedophiles (and *gasp* our desire for acceptance) means that I've seen a lot more talk about how we should all be executed or used in experiments (regardless of whether we've so much as touched a child's hair in our lives). That's all depressing and distressing, but perhaps this is where the changes have to start. Maybe through this emergence of pedophilia in the public eye, people will start to recognize truth. Maybe more will start to notice how the LGBT community is saying the very same things about us that once were said about their sexualities. Maybe in the years to come we'll begin to see more people standing up for us.

I saw a political questionnaire going around at one point asking about how people feel about various subjects both on a political level and a personal level. Pedophilia was included and I was surprised to see some who weren't against (though most people preferred to remain neutral on the subject). Perhaps there is hope yet.
