What's your end goal Skye exactly?
I feel like alot of MAP research doesn't ask the right questions (granted I haven't been following any forms of research.... too busy with girls.... I'd rather rather read a bed time story than deal with what feels like the same studies being repeated over and over again.) Questions I think would be more relevant and weed out people that are not GLer's would be something along the lines of this. How many children have you formed positive meaningful relationships? and of those children for how many years have you been a part of their life? Why do you choose to take an active role in the lives of children? Have you continued to still interact and maintain a relationship (even if non romantic.) in the lives of the children that are out of your AoA? How many MAP individuals do you know? Are you more likely to seek out advice or support from a MAP than someone with a different orientation? Do you directly or indirectly support children focused enrichment activities or programs and if so what? How much time have you've spent either directly or indirectly on helping children participate in enrichment activities / programs. In the past year? How much money have you've spent either directly or indirectly (via donation to organizations / programs/ or anonymous donations directed towards an individual child.) on helping children participate in enrichment activities / programs. In the past year? P.S I'll throw this out there though I highly doubt you'd agree... would you give a full ride to your university in return for insight and participation in helping your research program?... (I figured I'd ask :-P ) |
